A little about me
I’m Jeanie Hounsome, an MCIPD HR consultant and Health and Wellness Coach based near Builth Wells in mid Wales.
For more than 15 years, I’ve worked with people and organisations through change - initially in senior HR roles and, for the past several years, through my own consultancy.
Over time, I became increasingly interested in what sits underneath change. How we make decisions when things feel messy. Why knowing what we should do doesn’t always make doing it any easier. And how much difference it can make to have some space to think properly.
That curiosity eventually led me to train in health and wellbeing coaching, and to The Hillside Perspective as it is today.
Two sides. One perspective.
Hillside People is where I bring my HR experience; working with organisations that need pragmatic, senior support through growth, change and complex people challenges.
Hillside Thrive is where I work one-to-one with individuals; creating space to pause, reflect and make changes that work for them.
They’re different kinds of work, but my approach to both is much the same: listen properly, ask good questions, challenge when it’s useful and resist the temptation to assume there’s one right answer.
Away from work
I live on a smallholding in the Welsh countryside with my family, where life involves a mixture of work, children, running, being outdoors and an ever-growing list of projects.
I’m interested in health and wellbeing, but not in perfection. I’m much more interested in what actually works in real life when time is limited, priorities compete and everything refuses to follow the plan.
